Healing potions, also known as Wiggenweld potions, are an essential resource in Hogwarts Legacy that allows players to heal themselves during combat.
To get more healing potions, players can choose to brew them, buy them, or loot them from around the world.
Also, keep in mind that healing potions are only needed to heal during combat. If you’re out of combat, your character’s health will automatically regenerate slowly without having to use any healing potion.

In this guide, I will explain how to get more healing potions in Hogwarts Legacy and show you how to brew, buy, and loot them.
How to Get More Healing Potions in Hogwarts Legacy
There are three ways to get more healing/Wiggenweld potions in Hogwarts Legacy and here are all of them:
- Brew your own Wiggenweld Potions.
- Buy Wiggenweld Potions directly from J. Pippins in Hogsmeade.
- Find Wiggenweld Potions in the open world.
In general, you will always need to have some potions in your inventory, to ensure you can stay alive during the harder battles of the game such as when exploring the Forbidden Forest or while progressing through Rackam’s Trials.
Let’s examine these methods in turn.
How to Brew Healing Potions in Hogwarts Legacy
To brew wiggenweld potions, players will need to have access to a cauldron. This can be found in the Potions class at any point, or in the Room of Requirement once you’ve unlocked it.
Then, you will need the following materials:
- Horklump Juice (Purchased from J. Pippins in Hogsmeade or found around the world)
- Dittany Leaves (Purchased from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade or found around the world)
You can also grow these plants in the Room of Requirement, after unlocking enough planting pots.
How to Buy Healing Potions
Thankfully, if you don’t want to bother with brewing your own potions, there’s an easier alternative.
Players can buy wiggenweld potions directly from J. Pippins Potions in Hogsmeade at the price of 100 gold coins per potion.
While it’s more expensive than brewing them if you’re in a hurry or don’t want to bother getting any ingredients it’s a solid alternative.
How to Find Healing Potions in the Open World
Thankfully, wiggenweld potions can be found all around the open world if you’re attentive to detail while exploring. The most common spots are around enemy camps (especially on the outskirts of Hogsmeade), or in the main story quests near strong enemies (Forbidden Forest, Rackam’s Trials).
Just keep your eye open and you’ll find more than enough if you focus on exploration.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, to find more healing potions in Hogwarts Legacy, players have the option of brewing, buying, or looting them.
