LEGO Fortnite Obsidian Mining Guide
To get and mine Obsidian in LEGO Fortnite, you must head to the desert, find a cave, and explore inside while having at least a Rare Pickaxe. Each desert cave has multiple obsidian nodes.

However, this means you must also find the desert, locate a cave, and prepare enough protection from the heat. Let’s see how to get everything you need for this adventure.
How to Find Desert Biome & Desert Cave
The Desert is the hardest biome to find since it’s hard to spot from afar. The best tip to locate it is to keep an eye out for any tall towers in the distance.
If you can’t see any towers, keep running in any direction that doesn’t have a snow mountain, and you’ll find it eventually. Each map seed is random, so you might have to run far before finding it.
Now that you’ve found the desert, let’s see where to find a cave. Overall, caves are easy to spot if you know what to look for. They resemble large, turtle-like rock formations, and the best way to spot them is from any vantage point nearby.
In the desert, I recommend getting a Glider and using the Geysers there to glide around. From the air, you’ll be able to spot caves more easily.

Lastly, to survive the heat during your first visit to the Desert, craft a Snowberry Shake at the Juicer Station with the following materials:
- 2x Snow Berries (you can find them in the Ice Biome)
- 1x Milk (obtained by petting cows)
Eating this will grant you 10 minutes of Heat Resistance. Bring a few, and you’ll be able to explore the desert easily.
