In order to be able to start redeeming these codes, you must first beat stage 2-3 in the game in order to unlock the settings menu. This also allows you to control the graphics and turn off the sound in TTGL.
But we care about the codes. So once you unlock the Settings option, tap that button (in the lower left side of the screen) in order to bring up the Settings window.
From there, tap the General button as seen above, then select the “Gift Code” option:
