Players have the option to duplicate weapons, bows, shields, and other materials in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom patch 1.1.2.
With this patch, they can turn one weapon into two consistently by using the game’s Memory system to skip frames in the throw animation of the weapon.
In this guide, I will explain how to do the duplication weapon glitch in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom to help you duplicate any item you want.
Before moving on, make sure you’ve got at least one of the materials you want to duplicate. For rare materials, check out our guide on how to find and defeat Frost Gleeok in TotK, which drops the Gleeok Frost Horn.
How to Duplicate Weapons with the Duplication Glitch in TotK
The duplication glitch introduced in patch 1.1.2 in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom allows players to duplicate any weapon in their inventory consistently.
Here’s how to do the duplicate glitch in TotK:
- Equip the weapon you want to duplicate.
- Open your inventory and Save the game.
- Hold the button to throw your weapon (without releasing it).
- Press “-” on the Switch, navigate to Adventure Log, and then Memories.
- Watch four Memories in a row. You can press “X” to skip each of them.
- After watching the fourth Memory, press “+” on the Switch and navigate to the Weapons tab. The weapon you had equipped should be missing from your inventory.
- From the menu there, select Load Game.
*Important* For step 5, some 2-handed weapons like spears will require watching more than 4 Memories. Simply watch Memories until you can see the weapon missing from your inventory as indicated in step 6.
When the game loads again, Link will have thrown the weapon on the ground in front of him, but will also have a second copy in his inventory. And that’s how you duplicate your weapon consistently in patch 1.1.2 in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Duplicate Other Items in TotK
Thankfully, it’s extremely easy to duplicate other items as well. All you need to do is fuse the item you want to duplicate into the weapon and use the same technique.
This works for materials, shields, and even bows. Keep in mind that if you fuse a bow to a weapon, you will lose any modifications to the bow.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, players can easily use the duplication glitch in Tears of the Kingdom to create a copy of any weapon and fused items on it.
Keep in mind that this is accurate for patch 1.1.2 and may be fixed or replaced with another glitch in future updates.
