There are eight playable characters in Idol Showdown that players can try right away, while there are also some that are locked.

Unfortunately, for now, there’s no way to unlock these characters. Instead, you’ll have to play one of the already unlocked ones.

In this guide, I will list all playable characters in Idol Showdown and explain how to unlock more characters.

Idol Showdown features eight playable Hololive VTubers that you can try in an attempt to find your main. Here are all the playable characters in Idol Showdown:

  1. Aki Rosenthal – Summons MukiRose to help her and offers great gap-closing skills and a teleport mechanic.
  2. Ayame Nakiri – Solid combos and counter-attacks, the best character for beginners.
  3. Botan Shishiro – Botan offers great move variety and combos, which make her the best character in Idol Showdown.
  4. Coco Kiryu – Coco is a high-risk high-rewards character. Her combos are hard to learn but deal high damage and can take down enemies easily if mastered.
  5. Fubuki Shirakami – Fubuki is an RNG-based character as she increases her damage through a passive that is entirely based on luck. She isn’t the most consistent character but can be extremely fun if you get lucky.
  6. Korone Inugami – Korone is a solid all-around character with great damage and fairly easy combos.
  7. Sora Tokino – Sora utilizes musical attacks and her weapons of choice are musical instruments.
  8. Suisei Hoshimachi – Suisei is the hardest character in Idol Showdown as she features challenging and complex combos. However, once mastered, players will be able to deal amazing damage and great combos.

For now, these are all the playable characters in Idol Showdown and they are all unlocked from the get-go. But what about the remaining locked characters?

How to Unlock More Characters in Idol Showdown

The launch trailer showcases many of the locked characters and their gameplay.

You’ll notice that there are many locked characters in Idol Showdown. Unfortunately, there is no way to unlock any of the locked characters at the moment.

Instead, you’ll have to wait as they will be added in future updates.
