Unlocking new characters is one of the best parts of Honkai Star Rail. However, without exceptional luck, it’s hard to unlock every character released in the game.
Due to that, it’s important to save your hardly-earned Stellar Jades for the upcoming characters that you want.
In this guide, I will list all upcoming characters in Honkai Star Rail to help you decide if you should start saving Stellar Jades now.
Keep in mind that all information in this guide will be based on leaks as it’s too early to have an official announcement from the game devs.
However, leaks are consistent and accurate most of the time, and thus our best indication for upcoming characters at the moment.

All Upcoming Banners in Honkai Star Rail
At the moment, there are various leaks on the upcoming banners for the three major patches: 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. Additionally, there are some character leaks for future patches, but the details are fairly limited there.
1.0 Second Half Banner Release Date & Characters
The second half of 1.0 will release on May 17, 2023, and will include Jing Yuan as the 5-Star character.
Alongside Jing Yuan, players can expect to see the following 4-Star characters:
- Sushang (The Hunt Path – Physical DMG)
- March 7th (The Preservation Path – Ice DMG)
- Tingyun (The Harmony Path – Lightning DMG)
With these 4-Star characters, Jing Yuan’s banner will be overall better than Seele’s banner. While Seele comes out on top in the Seele vs Jing Yuan debate in terms of DPS, Jing Yuan has a better banner.
1.1 Banner Release Date & Characters
The 1.1 Banner, which based on HoYoverse’s banner release schedule should release on June 7th, 2023, is expected to include three new characters:
- Luocha (5-Star, The Abundance Path, Imaginary DMG).
- Silver Wolf (5-Star, The Nihility Path, Quantum DMG).
- Yukong (4-Star, The Harmony Path, Imaginary DMG).
Thus, to get Silver Wolf, Luocha, and Yukong in Honkai Star Rail, all you need to do is save your Stellar Jades until the release of the 1.1 Banner.
1.2 Banner Release Date & Characters
The 1.2 Banner should release on July 19 2023 and will include the following two characters:
- Kafka (5-Star, The Nihility Path, Lightning DMG)
- Blade (5-Star, The Destruction Path, Wind DMG)
At the moment, we don’t know if there will also be a new 4-Star. It is quite likely, but there are no reliable leaks at the moment.
1.3 Banner Release Date & Characters
The 1.3 Banner should release on the 30th of August 2023 and is expected to include the following characters:
- Fu Xuan (5-Star, The Preservation Path, Quantum DMG)
- Dan Heng (5-Star, The Destruction Path, Imaginary DMG)
The 5-Star version of Dan Heng will have a different name but it’s not confirmed yet, while Fu Xuan can be seen in the third world in the main story of Honkai Star Rail alongside Kafka.
Future Banner Leaks – More Upcoming Characters in Honkai Star Rail
Character models are not confirmed but instead originate from Honkai Impact 3rd.
Based on the information available, we can expect to see these characters in patches after 1.3 in Honkai Star Rail:
- Fu Hua (5-Star, The Abundance Path, Fire DMG)
- Raiden Mei (5-Star, The Hunt Path, Lightning DMG)
- Yae Sakura (5-Star, The Hunt Path, Ice DMG)

In conclusion, based on leaks, we have a solid idea of what to expect in the next few months in Honkai Star Rail.
If you’re looking to get Kafka, Silver Wolf, Luocha, or Blade, I would recommend starting to save your Stellar Jades right away, especially if you’re planning to get their signature Light Cone too.

Really nice article. I wasn’t looking any leaks when I started GI as my first such game, and for HI3 I knew only what people were discussing in chat. But GI has many events to farm primos from, and HI3 has much better drop-rate system(and a lot of events too). HSR got GI and not HI3 system, sadly, and I don’t see any events for now… So having such profound information with dates really helps.
Judging by this, I will 100% get Kafka if I not push my luck any higher in current banner and will gather daily rewards and weekly SW(which is much better than such in GI so I’m more willing to do it). It will be exactly 90 pull for me)
