Overall, there are six classes in Wartales. Some of them only shine on certain combos, while others should be present in every party. Let’s see all the classes in Wartales, placed on a tier list based on their usefulness.

S Tier: Ranger, Swordsman
A Tier: Spearman
B Tier: Brute, Warrior
C Tier: Archer

The Brute and the Warrior feature similar playstyles to the Swordsman but with less survivability. Due to that, they fall off to B-tier.

The Archer has solid debuffs for the early game but scales terribly and is the worst class for the late game in Wartales.

The Swordsman is the best tank in Wartales as it can use heavy armor and has many attacks to keep enemies aggroed on them.

Since you always need a frontline unit to take damage and keep enemies occupied while your backline deals damage, having a Swordsman on your party is essential.

The Ranger is the best class in Wartales as it can deal phenomenal damage if used properly. It is the classic “Rogue/Assassin” class that specializes in daggers.

Despite having low survivability, if paired with a Swordsman to keep enemies away from your Ranger, this class can take down the entire enemy party on its own.

Additionally, the Ranger can apply solid debuffs and serve as a backline support unit.
