HumanitZ Radio Receiver: Location and How to Use

Surviving the post-apocalyptic world of HumanitZ is difficult even without having to worry about the radio tower and especially the radio receiver, but I’m sure you are like me: always up for a new challenge.

Not to mention the fact that repairing the communications array is important if you want better loot and improved chances of survival in the long run.

Today, I am going to walk you through finding the hardest piece of the system: the radio receiver. We will cover the specific hazards you will face, how to fix the structure, and the preparation required to keep your character alive during and after the expedition.

Locating the Radio Receiver

Radio Receiver

Initially, I thought that it spawns randomly across commercial buildings, but it was confirmed on Steam by the game’s developers that this is a static item and one of the few with a very specific location on the map.

In other words, you will find the receiver in one specific location in the city center, right near the middle of the map.

Skoobz Soundz

To get your hands on it, you need to head to the city situated to the east of the tall transmission structure. Look for the building called Skoobz Soundz. Walk inside, and the device will be sitting right on one of the shelves.

koobz Soundz is located in the northeast quarter of the city at Grid C3.

Simple enough in theory. But the execution requires some heavy firepower and careful planning.

Tips for the run

Humanitz Battle Zombies

Getting to that music store is not easy, as you can imagine. The urban center is completely overrun with enemies, so you should be prepared.

If you decide to take an off-road shortcut through the woods to reach the city limits, keep your eyes peeled for a zombie bear!

I recommend avoiding the forest path entirely if your gear is lacking when you go on the run. The main roads are safer, though still highly populated. Still, easier than zombie bears!

Note: The main road leading up to the Radio Tower runs right through a military camp packed with zombies. But since the tower itself isn’t fully fenced off, you can simply drive an SUV off-road to bypass the camp entirely.

Once you hit the asphalt, standard zombies are the least of your problems, though. The city center is heavily populated by special infected variants.

You will inevitably run into undead wearing hazmat suits. These guys explode when they drop, so make sure to always keep a safe distance from them.

There are also variants that inflict contact damage even after they are dead. Do not go stepping on corpses while you are looking for dropped medical kits or other loot!

More Survival Strategies for the Expedition

I always prep heavily before pushing into the city – and so should you! Learn How to Repair Melee Weapons & Guns in the game first, and make sure you’re ready!

Stock up on food, water, medical supplies, and more ammunition than you think you need. You never want to realize mid-run that you didn’t bring enough.

If you are running multiplayer, stick close to your squad. Use voice or text chat to coordinate your angles. Marking landmarks like the music store on your map saves a lot of headaches later.

Loadout and Movement

Equip weapons with massive stopping power. I prefer and recommend rifles and shotguns because they let you dispatch threats from afar. That range is absolutely mandatory when dealing with those exploding hazmat zeeks.

Throw on protective gear like helmets and vests to mitigate incoming hits.

When moving through the streets, stick to back alleys and rooftops. Staying quiet keeps the aggro down.

When you finally reach the music store, clear the building top-down. Check every corner systematically. I find that this approach saves time and keeps you from getting ambushed from behind.

While you are fighting your way through the streets, make sure to prioritize your loot collection.

Always pick up the usable items dropped by defeated foes. You will frequently find extra medical kits, ammo, and consumables on their corpses.

These small pickups regularly save my life during intense, protracted battles when my initial supplies start running low. Just remember to verify the area is clear of those contact-damage variants before you step on a pile of bodies.

Repairing the Structure

How to find and repair the radio tower in HumanitZ.

Once you secure the Radio Receiver from the music store shelf, head back to the main tower.

To complete the fix, combine your new prize with one Car Battery, one Electronics, and one Electrical Cable. Plug those in, and the network immediately goes live. I have a full guide to repairing the Radio Tower here.

Wrapping Up

I know that grabbing the receiver feels like a massive hurdle early on. But knowing exactly where to look removes the guesswork at least – and you can do this when you are prepared.

Upgrading your home base with traps and fortifications becomes much easier once those supply boxes start raining from the sky, though, so it’s better to try this sooner rather than later.
