Techno Banter is dropping later today, and I couldn’t be more hyped about it. Crunching Koalas – the Polish indie dev behind hits like Darkwood and BUTCHER – is behind this trippy, amazing, neon-drenched narrative RPG that promises a wild ride through a buzzing club scene.
I have to admit that I knew little about it before the announcement of its release hit my inbox, but I’m hooked now. Check out the launch trailer to see if it resonates with you as well:
Yup, this is exactly the type of game I had no idea I needed in my life!
In Techno Banter, you play as Nil, a wannabe superstar turned ultra-selective bouncer at the infamous Green Door.
Your job is to screen an endless line of eccentric club-goers. Some are tricksters, others trendsetters, and a few die-hard techno fans. Your mission? Keep the rave alive with a no-nonsense door policy.
Not feeling a guest’s vibe? A sloppy outfit or lingering signs of last night’s madness might be enough to show them the exit. But remember, sometimes a simple “NO” just doesn’t cut it. It’s up to you to decide who makes the cut.
Seems familiar? It sure does – it’s basically Papers, Please on steroids. Or acid.
Also in the news: Japanese Drift Master launched recently – check it out!
What’s On the Setlist?
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect from the game, in case the trailer above wasn’t enough:
Neon-Soaked City:
Wander the electric streets of Rainbow Drive. Explore hidden dance floors and find inspiration to upgrade your own club.
Epic Rave Soundtrack
Enjoy a killer soundtrack crafted with Berlin-based DJs. The beats perfectly capture the pulse of Europe’s techno capital. Just don’t get lost on the dance floor – that line isn’t going anywhere!
Club Management Flair
Channel your inner Berghain. With strict selection and cutting-edge tunes, you’ll transform the Green Door into the hottest venue in town. Grow your club and create the ultimate techno haven.
If this sounds good, you can head over to your favorite platform and search for the game: it’s available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
