Opinions of the creators of other games

Editors of other racing game creators are thrilled with the visuals that PlayStation VR 2 offers, but not everything is perfect.

They criticize the lack of options that should be standard in first-person simulators, such as the inability to change the default position/height of the driver.

Players also can’t choose whether the camera is fixed on a car or the horizon of a race track, which could help those who experience nausea when using a VR headset.

Thus, the situation with GT Sport is repeated. Previous Polyphony races also lacked these important options for PlayStation VR users.

They also say that it would be helpful if the developers paid more attention to the menu system in Gran Turismo 7. Now PS VR2 users see a “flat” menu even after descending from a pit stop. It is also not possible to select a cockpit seat during VR Replays.

Gameplay

Players can enjoy “all the cars and tracks” from the main game’s Gran Turismo 7 via a free PlayStation 5 game update on PlayStation VR 2.

More than 450 vehicles will be available for us to board, and during the game, we can either inspect the vehicle or merely concentrate on the various tracks.

Although the game cannot be played with PlayStation VR2 controllers, the journalists did not lose their enthusiasm and highlighted a number of happy moments. Basically, they were impressed with the following features:

• Comparatively speaking to GT Sports on the original PlayStation VR, Gran Turismo 7’s graphical performance has advanced significantly. It’s so beautiful and detailed that some reviewers just call it “amazing”, but there were a few technical compromises;

• Each of the 450 automobiles can be virtually viewed by players. There is a unique VR presentation room in the garage. The designers paid close attention to every last detail when creating each vehicle, studying every piece of plastic, leather, and wood trim as well as other interior components like the dashboard;

• With Gran Turismo 7 for PS VR2, you may now freely adjust your head at any time, even while racing. This adds an extra layer of realism, allowing players to more fully experience the scale of the environment and the dangers associated with driving a sports car with limited visibility (such as narrow windshields or crossbars);

• The reporters also noted that a security camera is no longer required to use the headset, which gives players more freedom in choosing where to play. This innovation may encourage players to spend more time in virtual reality.
