Being able to use the same Activision account on different consoles can be hugely beneficial to gamers, especially in terms of game progression.
As of now, I can happily let you know that you CAN use one Activision account in multiple consoles and keep on enjoying Call of Duty with your friends from anywhere, without having to level up on each and every console!
Nevertheless, while it sounds like an amazing deal, it’s good to know all the details on this topic first and then decide what you want to do about it.
Can you use the same Activision Account on Different Consoles?
Let’s say, you’re playing a Call of Duty game on PC and want to link your account to the same game in your Xbox/PS5, Activision has laid out a very simple and straightforward path for you.
You’ve grinded really hard to get your perfect weapons with the best attachments possible in the PC version of the game.
Along with the guns, all other kinds of progressions will be accessible in the game through any console – Xbox, PS4, or PS5 – given that you correctly link your Activision account.
Isn’t that awesome?! It’ll save you hundreds of hours of grinding and let you enjoy the game with your friends without having to lack resources.
You can actually link up to four different consoles on the same Activision account and access whichever is convenient for you at a certain time.
However, while you may not lose your progress and rewards in the game, any in-game purchases, such as the Battle Pass and COD points, will not be available in any console other than the parent console.
You can only access these COD points or Battle Pass skins on the console where these items were originally purchased on.
I don’t necessarily see this as a deal-breaker, but then again, it does depend on how important the Battle Pass progression is to you.
Furthermore, it goes without saying that, you’ll need to separately purchase the game for all the consoles that you’ll link to.
If you’re looking to use the Activision account over a PC, a PS5 and an Xbox, then purchasing the same game for all these consoles is a must.
Linking the Activision account once is enough to link the games that you’ll play on this account over all the consoles.
How to Link Same Activation Account on Different Consoles?
Before you get to play the game on different consoles, you’ll first need to link the consoles through the Activision account.
To do that, firstly visit the Call of Duty website and sign in with the main account that you use.
If your parent account is on Battle.net, select the Battle.net icon at the bottom and input the correct information in the redirected window.
Once you’ve signed in, you’ll come back to the home page of the Call of Duty website again.
Now, hover over your username, which you’ll find on the taskbar at the top.
From the drop-down menu that appears, click on “Linked Accounts”. You’ll notice the option to sign in to various console accounts, like the PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam & Battle.net for PC.
If you want to link one of those accounts, you’ll need to click on the “Link Account” option to its right.
A verification code will be sent to the email address used in your original or parent Activision account. After you’ve put the code in, click on “Link Account” again in the “Linked Accounts” webpage.
This time, you’ll be redirected to another window where you’ll be asked to input the credentials and login information of the console that you are linking the Activision account to.
You may or may not enable Two Factor Authentication, depending on your preference.
If you’ve correctly carried out all these steps above, your Activision account should be linked to multiple consoles now and you can enjoy Call of Duty from any of these consoles while using the same Activision ID!
You may notice that the “Linked Accounts” webpage still doesn’t show that your account has been added.
It takes some time to update; therefore, the best way to confirm that you’ve successfully linked the Activision accounts is to check your email for a confirmation message.
Wrapping Up
In my opinion, Activision has done a great job in enabling the use of the same account on multiple consoles. This has made the lives of a lot of gamers much more convenient.
Whether you’re changing consoles or want to play the new Call of Duty MW2 on more than one consoles, Activision has you covered with this amazing feature.
