The Camel is the second new mob introduced in the 1.20 Trails and Tales update and it can always be found in Desert Villages.
To tame Camels in Minecraft, players will need to equip them with a Saddle and then mount them by pressing RMB while looking at them without holding anything. To heal and breed Camels, feed them a cactus.
In this Minecraft Camels guide, I will explain how Camels work to help you tame, breed, and mount them easily.

How to Find and Tame Camels in Minecraft

To find a Camel in Minecraft, players will need to locate a Desert Village. Every Desert Village has a guaranteed chance to spawn one Camel so unless someone else has taken it previously, finding a village means acquiring your own Camel.
To tame a Camel, the process is similar to taming a horse. Try and mount it while holding nothing in your hand and use a Saddle once you can access its inventory.
Keep in mind that up to two players can mount a Camel, but you only need one Saddle.
What do Camels do?
Camels are one of the best modes of transportation in Minecraft. They move fairly fast and can even jump ahead (up to 12 blocks forward and one block upward) when players use their dash ability by holding the jump button.
Also, Camels are the tallest mob you can mount in the game. Due to that, Zombies, Vindicators, Hoglins, Silverfish, sword Piglins, and Endermites won’t be able to hit you while on top of it.
However, similar to Horses, Camels cannot ride in deep water and will automatically dismount you. They can move in water up to three blocks deep.
The main difference with Horses is that Camels cannot wear armor.
How to Breed and Heal Camels in Minecraft
Breeding Camels is easy as long as you can find two of them. To breed Camels in Minecraft, you’ll need to feed both of them a Cactus. Similar to other animals, Camels will follow you when you hold their favorite food.
After feeding both of them, they’ll produce a baby Camel, which will slowly grow into an adult. You can feed Cactus to the baby to speed up its growth.
Additionally, Camels can heal any lost hearts automatically over time or by feeding them Cactus. Each Cactus will restore two hearts.
What Do Camels Eat in Minecraft?
The only item Camels eat in Minecraft is the Cactus block, which is used to breed and heal them.
Thankfully, acquiring, and farming Cactus is an extremely easy process as they can be found anywhere in the desert and grow up to three blocks high once placed on sand.
However, while Camels love cactus blocks, they will still get hurt if they get too close to a placed cactus.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, players can always find a Camel in each Desert Village. They will need a Saddle to tame it and can breed it by feeding it Cactus.
Camels are used as mounts, similar to horses, and they can move surprisingly fast across all biomes.
