Some plants in Hogwarts Legacy can only be planted in medium or large pots. However, when unlocking the Room of Requirement, players will only have access to a small potting table.
To get a potting table with medium pots, players will have to visit the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade and purchase it from there.
Also, if you’re just starting in Hogwarts Legacy, consider checking out our guide on how to level up quickly.
In this guide, I will explain how to get a potting table with medium pots in Hogwarts Legacy and showcase what kind of seeds players can plant there.
How to Get Potting Table with Medium Pots in Hogwarts Legacy

To get medium and large potting tables in Hogwarts Legacy, the process is fairly simple.
Start by opening the map, navigating to the Hogsmeade map, and traveling to the south Floo Flame in Hogsmeade.
From there, travel to the nearby Tomes and Scrolls shop. Within the buy section, players will be able to purchase various potting tables. Here’s every potting table for sale in Thomas’ stock:
- Potting table with three small pots – 400g
- Potting table with five small pots – 2,500g
- Potting table with a medium pot – 750g
- Potting table with two medium pots – 1,500g
- Potting table with three medium pots – 3,000g
- Potting table with one large pot – 1,000g
- Potting table with two large pots – 3,000g
Additionally, the shop also features beast-feeding tools and potion stations.
As for which one to buy, it’s not necessary to buy the ones with two or more pots. Instead, you can buy the one with only one pot and place multiple of them.
These pots are fairly expensive and if you find yourself lacking money, consider checking out our guide on how to make money fast in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Place & Customize Potting Table in the Room of Requirement
After buying the potting table of your choice, all that’s left is to place it within the Room of Requirement and plant seeds in it.
After unlocking the Room of Requirement, you’ll be able to equip and use the Conjuring spell. Within the herbology section, you will be able to conjure any potting tables that you just bought.
Select the medium potting table of your choice and place it within the Room of Requirement.
Additionally, after selecting the table and before placing it, you can select its styling and customize it by holding the right and left arrows on the gamepad.
How to Use Medium Potting Table in Hogwarts Legacy
There are eight plants in Hogwarts Legacy and six of those can be planted on a medium potting table. Here are the six plants that can be planted on a medium potting table:
- Dittany seed (small table)
- Fluxweed seed (small table)
- Knotweed seed (small table)
- Mallowsweet seed (small table)
- Shrivelfig seed (medium table)
- Chinese chomping cabbage seed (medium table)
If you’re buying a medium potting table, I recommend planting the last two plants on the list there and planting the rest in a small potting table.
Additionally, two plants in the game require a large potting table: the Mandrake seed and the Venomous Tentacula seed.
