These traps are in no particular order. They all fill their role extremely well and will be great companions against the Orc hordes.

Barricade

Unlock Requirments:

  • Unlocks after the map After Hidden Dock is completed

Unique Upgrades:

  • Reduces Collateral Damage Taken
  • Increase size (+1 side block) and cost (+400 coins)

Despite dealing no damage or status effect, the Barricade is the best trap in Orcs Must Die! 3. Higher difficulties of the game can rarely ever be beaten without using crowd control from barricades.

Brimstone

Unlock Requirments:

  • It costs 7 Skulls to unlock the trap

Unique Upgrades:

  • Reduce Cooldown
  • Arcane Damage

Brimstone traps are your best damage-based floor traps followed by regular spike traps. They can be very powerful if using the arcane damage buff.

Use them along tar traps, for the continued slow effect tar, that way waves are essentially always moving slowly, but also getting that extra brimstone damage.

Ceiling Laser

Unlock Requirments:

  • It costs 8 Skulls to unlock the trap

Unique Upgrades:

  • Stun enemies
  • Increase damage against stunned enemies

Their continuous damage is very valuable for eliminating any issues from flyers or kobolds, as well as slowly widdling down the health of all other enemies.

Lasers also have an unlimited range from top to bottom, so the ceiling height does not matter, as long as the trap can be placed there.

The Flip Trap is one of the original traps that has continued to appear in every Orcs Must Die! game. While it hardly damages enemies, it can launch huge groups of foes toward deadlier traps.

Guardian Archers

  • Unlocks after the map Close Quarters is completed

Unique Upgrades:

  • Regenerates Health over time
  • Fire Damage

In large numbers, they are very powerful in knocking out targets and can do even more damage with the fire upgrade. If they are in a protected position but can see everything, they will continuously be shooting.
