Plants vs. Zombies Creators Let You Destroy the World in Octogeddon

Octogeddon is a “sort-of” tower defense game where you play as an octopus bent on destroying the world. Why? Well one fateful day this little octopus hopped on the internet to watch some funny videos only to see a human cutting a tentacle off for cooking. Fueled with rage, the octopus sets his sights on the ENTIRE world!

Sounds bizarre? It should, seeing how this game was developed by the original creators of the beloved Plants vs. Zombies series, the game that arguably marked the start of the mobile gaming scene. Octogeddon contains a similar art style, simple gameplay, and of course the unmistakable charm.

Octogeddon is a two-button game controlled entirely with your mouse. Left click and right click rotates your octopus counter-clockwise and clockwise respectively. The humans are fighting back so it’s up to you to aim your giant tentacles to destroy submarines, airplanes, tanks, and more!

As you destroy more and more, you’ll earn coins. You can spend these coins to add more tentacles onto your octopus, and you can even buy special tentacles. You can get things like snake tentacles that shoot venom at enemies, crab claws that crush the opposition, and even chicken heads to humiliate enemies with eggs on their face!

Currently the game is only on Steam (check out the page here) but we have no doubt that this game will be ported to as many platforms as possible. The simple gameplay and the intuitive control scheme translates to just about any platform, and will do especially well on mobile devices.

The game has only been out for a day and it’s already getting positive reviews on its Steam page, so go ahead and check it out if you’re a fan of Plants vs. Zombies!
