Tales of Arise: How to Get More XP and Level Up Fast

Tales of Arise is an RPG where you will need to be leveling up in order to be unlocking newer and better things. Leveling up is the most important thing, but not very easy.

So stay tuned to find out how to make it much easier by following some simple tips and tricks.

Leveling up might come progressive and slow in Tales of Arise. But sometimes this won’t be enough as you might want to get to the later stages of the game.

You will try out some methods like grinding, which will result in terrible XP gain and you won’t even get a level at max.

In this guide, you will find out what you need to be doing in order to be getting much more XP and level up faster. Let’s get started.

How to Level Up Faster in Tales of Arise

Of course, you will need to be doing the regular quests when you enter a new region. They will provide you with both the lore and an XP that you can level up with.

But sometimes, or most of the time I should say, this won’t be enough.

You can give these methods that are effective and very useful in getting way more XP and leveling up much faster:

Adjust/Lower your Combat Difficulty

The more CP you get, the more Skill Points and Artes skills you’ll get. You’ll get more CP just by using combos, Boost Attacks, Boost Strikes, and beating enemies quickly.

Doing these combos will get your XP going much higher and better, but there’s another way to boost this bonus.

  • Easy will give x0.5 Combat Points
  • Normal will give x1.0 Combat Points
  • Moderate will give x1.25 Combat Points
  • Hard will give x1.5 Combat Points

Go to your settings to change how hard the game is. Even though your enemies will hit much harder, the extra CP will make it much easier to farm rare enemies that give a lot of EXP.

Even better, the difficulty settings in Arise can be changed at any time during the game. If you need a few more levels, just make the game harder and start farming.

Get These Artifacts

There are two artifacts that can make the amount of EXP you get in battle go up.

You won’t be able to get these until the second half of the game, and the second one might not even be possible until the end.

  • Silver Suit of Armor – The Silver Suit of Armor automatically gives 20% more EXP, and you can get it by finishing the quest “Their Future.” You can only finish this quest as soon as you can get into the Rena area.
  • Golden Suit of Armor  – The Golden Suit of Armor is a much harder artifact to get. It is part of the “Spirit Temple” quest, which is available just after the game’s halfway point but is a very tough challenge.

When you have acquired both artifacts, the benefits of these will combine to increase your total experience gain by a factor of two(doubled).

Chain Battles Together

Chain Battle Bonus is unlocked early in the game and gives your party more CP if you can fight the next battle right after the last one is over.

To be clear, the “CP” in this sentence stands for “combat points,” not “cure points,” which have the same initials.

Combat Points are like Grade from older games, but they go up when you do better in battle. But these aren’t saved up for a New Game+. Instead, they are used right away to get your battle rewards.

With a bigger battle chain, you’ll get more EXP and SP bonuses and fight enemies less often. Simply put, you should always try to get from one battle to the next as fast as possible.

You should think this through and check the map often. If you know you’re going to a dead end to get to a chest, you might want to run past a monster on the way so you can fight the ones at the end first.

If you don’t, you might have a lot of ground to cover without any fights, which would use up all of your bonus gauges.

Cook Meals

Cooking food that gives your party extra EXP is by far the easiest way to do this. To do this, go to a nearby Inn or camp and choose the food item from the menu.

The recipe for the Fruit Sandwich is the following:

  • 1 Wheat
  • 1 Strawberry
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Milk

For instance, the Fruit Sandwich gives you a 30-minute EXP Boost L. After eating the meal you chose, go out into the field and start killing enemy mobs.

Other very good recipes that you should try out for cooking are these:

  • Leaf-Wrapped Fish – low XP boost
  • Sashimi – low to medium XP boost
  • Fish Steak – medium XP boost
  • Sushi – high XP boost

Although they aren’t as good as the fish sandwich, they will still help you level up much faster than usual and I recommend cooking them.

Don’t forget that a meal will still be active if you decide to rest again and not cook. Keeping this in mind will help you save those ingredients if you are grinding near a campfire.

Farm Enemies with Buffs

Once you are buffed with the bonus modifiers that are mentioned above, you will want to go ahead and begin grinding.

Just go to a high-level area or one where the enemies fight back, and then start killing them as fast and effectively as you can.

You’ll get more EXP based on your current CP level if you keep fighting mobs.

The more enemies you beat, the higher your CP level will get. Once this gauge is full, you’ll start to see enemies less often and get more items from drops.

Rare enemy variants hit harder than regular monsters, but when they are killed, they give more CP and EXP, which makes them a great way to level up.

Best Locations for Leveling Up Faster

Even on the hardest difficulty setting, Tales of Arise players shouldn’t have to farm too much in the beginning.

In fact, doing so might be a little counterproductive because players can’t chain enemies together until they reach the Traslida Highway area in Menancia.

This is where you will need to for the best farming locations once you have these buffs:

  • Adan Lake
  • The Otherworld

Adan Lake

There are a good number of different enemies in the area, and some of them give you a lot of EXP and SP.

Berg Volcano (Level 40–50) and Rena (Level 40–50) are also pretty good places for those who have reached them (Level 50 – Level 60).

As the latter is very close to the end of the game, however, you may want to wait until you have unlocked The Otherworld, which is a post-game area where farming is much more efficient, if you can.

The Otherworld

After you have finished Tales of Arise and all of the available quests, you will be able to do the “Another Hill-Side Anomaly” sub-quest in Viscint, which will then let them do Otherworldly Visitors.

In the second one, you will need to go to The Otherworld, where you will face some of the hardest bosses in the game.

Four of these bosses can be farmed over and over again, which is a great way to earn EXP.

Chronos, the last boss, is obviously the best, but Edna and Eizen also give good returns and are much easier to beat.

With the right food bonuses, you should be able to go from level 70 to level 100 in The Otherworld in about an hour of grinding.

Sidequests

As a general rule, you should do as many quests as you can as soon as they become available since you can often finish them without going too far out of your way.

Usually, when you’re done with an area, you should open your fast travel map and scroll through the realms to see if any envelopes show up.

This means that there are quests available in that realm. Most of these can be dealt with as soon as they show up, but a few need a little more time.

Giant Zeugles

These huge monsters can be found in dungeons and in other places all over the world.

Not only do they have a lot more health than normal mobs, but they can also kill your whole party with just a few hits.

The fight’s difficulty will depend on how high-level your party is, but you’ll be able to farm a lot of experience, get rare items, and get a lot of Skill Points (SP).

Every Giant Zeugle has a weak spot, which is usually a glowing part of its body. To break them, just focus all your attacks on these spots.

Once you break the huge creature, it will fall to the ground and give you lots of chances to use your most powerful moves.

They give a lot of XP when killed. So just follow this tip and you can simply be looking for them and keep grinding and farming them.

Conclusion

That’s everything that you need to know about getting more XP and leveling up fast in Tales of Arise. As you might know, the maximum level for this game is 100.

To get there you will need to follow these tips a whole lot. Usually, players take a couple of days to reach the maximum level so do not be in a rush.

Just take your time, find the artifacts, buff up yourself with the foods that boost your XP, and simply start doing these things one by one.

I hope that this guide has helped you out with leveling up and hopefully reaching the maximum level. Have fun!
