Stay tuned to learn everything that you need to know about fishing.

Fishing is a very fun and relaxing mini-game and activity that you can do in Tales of Arise. Other than making you calm and at peace, you can get some very good loot too.

Getting fish is going to make you get very good items for cooking which you can then turn into XP. If you didn’t know, cooking is one of the best ways to get XP in this game.

In this guide, I will be showing you absolutely everything that you need to know connected with fishing in Tales of Arise. Let’s get started.

How To Fish in Tales of Arise

When you get to a fishing spot, throw your line into the water near some bubbles on the surface or jumping fish. When you’re over a good spot, your cursor will turn yellow.

When you cast your line, you’ll see a group of fish on a bar facing your lure.

The point of this quick-time event is to press the buttons for Soft Shake, Hard Shake, and Reel In when the moving circle enters the green area around your lure.

But different buttons work with different fish. When choosing your lure, pay attention to the “Fish Present” chart. It will tell you what kinds of movements attract each type of fish.

As soon as you catch a fish, you have to do another quick-time event. Hold your rod in the direction that the arrows on the bar point, and hold the “Reel In” button at the same time.

Every so often, you’ll need to quickly press Q, W, or E (or LB, RT, or RB on a gamepad) to damage the fish’s stamina. When a fish darts left or right, you have to press Q or E.

When a fish jumps, you have to press W. Doing so will hurt the fish’s stamina, and it will be hurt even more with stronger rods until it is caught.

  • Novice Gear –  Given to catch ten types of fish.
