The Slingshot is an early-game ranged weapon in Sons of the Forest ideal for hunting small game such as rabbits, squirrels, and birds.

Where to Get the Slingshot in Sons of the Forest
To get the Slingshot in Sons of the Forest, travel to the west side of the map and locate three bodies in the location shown below.
On one of these bodies, you’ll find the Slingshot. Then you can access it from your inventory, from the tool slot inside the briefcase on the top side.
Keep in mind that the Slingshot is not a good weapon choice against mutants or anything bigger than your hand.
Instead, it should be used only on small game like squirrels, rabbits, and birds.
Which Ammo to Use for the Slingshot
The Slingshot uses two types of ammo: Small Stones and Golf Balls.
Small Stones can be found everywhere on the ground and players can carry up to 20 in their inventory. However, they have the disadvantage of not being fully accurate. Due to that, using the Slingshot efficiently will take a lot of practice.
Golf Balls can only be found on the Golf Course but are abundant there. Golf Balls deal the same damage as Small Stones but fly much straighter. Due to that, it’s easier to aim and hit targets with Golf Balls than with Small Stones.
Overall, the best ammo for the Slingshot in Sons of the Forest is Golf Balls.
Where to Find the Golf Course and Golf Balls in Sons of the Forest
The Gold Course is located at the Northeast corner of the map. It’s a huge area and thus is nearly impossible to miss.
This area is filled with Golf Balls, and players can also find a Putter and practice their golf skills while taking a break from surviving and slaying mutants.
Also, there is a dig site on the southern side of the Golf Course, so make sure to come equipped with the Shovel.
