5. The Stun Baton
The stun baton can be just outside the waterfall cave on the west side of the island.
When using charged attacks, the baton will electrify enemies, thus causing them to stand still for a few seconds.
This is an ideal combo with any other heavy weapon like the Firefighter Axe as players can electrify enemies to keep them in position and then hit them with the Axe to take them down.
However, it only works if it has batteries equipped. Also, batteries aren’t easy to find and have better uses such as crafting Tech Armor.
4. The Machete
The Machete can be found in a camp at the northern beach. It will be on top of a deflated boat.
It’s the second fastest-hitting weapon in the game, while also dealing solid damage and even being able to block attacks.
The only setback is that it doesn’t deal as much damage as other heavier weapons.
3. The Firefighter Axe
The Firefighter Axe can be found in an underground bunker on the northwest side of the map that requires the Shovel.
Overall, this is the strongest of the three axes in Sons of the Forest for combat.
It hits slow but hard and can one-shot most cannibals as long as you aim for the head.

The Electric Chainsaw can be found in a cave just north of the Stun Baton location.
This weapon is the most lethal weapon in the game as it can take down multiple cannibals at the same time with ease. The only reason it isn’t on top of this list is that it requires batteries.

The Katana is the best melee weapon in Sons of the Forest that hits faster than any other weapon in the game, while also dealing significant damage.
It can take down cannibals with its sharp blade easily, while also blocking attacks.
The only setback is that it’s available only during the late game. Thus, before that, you’ll have to work with any of the other weapons on this list.
