Booster Energy is a held item available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It is considered one of the best held items in the game since it significantly buffs the equipped Pokémon’s stats.
However, it can only be used by certain Pokémon and is acquired in the end game.
In this guide, I will explain where to get booster energy in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and showcase how to use it efficiently.
How to Get Booster Energy
Getting your first Booster Energy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a straightforward process. All it takes is following the main story until you reach the bottom of the Great Crater of Paldea and the area of Lab Zero.
Before taking the elevator down, there will be a pile of rubble where you can find Booster Energy. It’s hard to miss so don’t worry too much about it.
Keep in mind that this is the only guaranteed way to get Booster Energy and players can only get one this way.
How to Use Booster Energy
While being a held item, Booster Energy can only be used once and then disappears. To use it, equip it to your Paradox Pokemon of choice and it will activate at the beginning of the fight.
However, after being activated, it will completely disappear from your inventory. Therefore, it is essential to save it for really important battles, like online play.
After being consumed, Booster Energy will increase the equipped Pokemon’s main stat by 1.5x and the second stat by 1.3x for the duration of the fight.
Best Pokémon for Booster Energy
Booster Energy is meant to be used exclusively by Paradox Pokemon, which are introduced in the late game.
These have the unique abilities Protosynthesis and Quark Drive, which combined with Booster Energy makes it easier to trigger these abilities and thus allows for an overall damage increase.
In total, there are 14 Paradox Pokemon with 7 of them being in Scarlet and 7 in Violet.
All Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet
These are known as Past Paradox Pokemon and are exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet.
- Great Tusk
- Brute Bonnet
- Sandy Shocks
- Scream Tail
- Flutter Mane
- Slither Wing
- Roaring Moon
All Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Violet
These are known as Future Paradox Pokemon and are exclusive to Pokemon Violet.
- Iron Treads

- Iron Thorns
- Iron Bundle
- Iron Valiant
How to Get More Booster Energy
Thankfully, there is a way to farm more Booster Energy and this is by hunting wild Paradox Pokemon. Each Paradox Pokemon found in the wild has a 5% chance of holding Booster Energy.
However, due to the item’s effect, it will be used instantly when starting the fight. To work around that, you will need to use Pokemon which block enemies from using their Booster Energy.
The best option here is using Koraidon or Miraidon. Upon entering combat, they turn the ground to Fire or Electric terrain respectively.
These two terrain types block all Pokemon from using their Booster Energy. Thus, the strategy involves starting combat with either Koraidon or Miraidon and catching any Paradox Pokemon you find.
With a 5% chance, about one of every twenty Pokemon should be wielding Booster Energy.
Conclusion
To sum up, that’s everything you need to know on how to get and use Booster Energy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The easiest way to get it is by progressing the main story and picking it up from Area Zero. Otherwise, catch Paradox Pokemon while having Miraidon/Koraidon on the field and hope to get lucky.
