Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 Coming to Switch

Nintendo fans of the blue bomber, you’re in luck! Our prayers have been heard, and Capcom has answered: Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 is officially coming to the Switch on May 22, 2018. Many fans think that Nintendo consoles are Mega Man’s true home, so we’re all happy to see his legacy grace the latest Nintendo console.

While Mega Man Legacy Collection has already been released for most home consoles and PC, both collections will now come to the Switch. Much like the previous releases, there are two collections here. The first collection contains the all of the original NES games, Mega Man 1 – 6. If you want to experience Mega Man at his core, start here! This collection will be available digitally on the eShop for $14.99.

The second collection contains the higher bit adventures of Mega Man, including Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, and the retro throwbacks Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. The second collection is also available digitally for $19.99.

The physical release will contain a cartridge of the first collection and a download code for a digital version of the second collection. It seems that the Switch cartridge tax was a decision maker here, and Capcom decided to go with the cheaper cartridges. The physical edition will run $39.99 and will come with an exclusive Mega Man themed cleaning cloth. Yay, at least we get that too!

The Switch version of the collection features the same modes and goodies found in the earlier version of the collection, including the extra bonuses like Challenge Mode, Sound Mode, and Museum Mode. Exclusive to the Switch version however is amiibo compatibility! Scanning the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS Mega Man amiibo will unlock additional challenges for you in Challenge Mode.
