In the 3.0 update, Genshin Impact introduced us to the Dendro element and its respective reactions. One of the new Dendro characters is the 4-star archer named Collei.
Players can acquire Collei either by wishing on the first banner of 3.0 (either Tighnari’s banner or Zhong Li’s) or by completing the quest ‘The Unappreciated Carving’.
Many players call her ‘Dendro Amber’ since she features a similar playstyle. However, the Dendro element, and Collei’s whole kit, make her a considerably stronger option compared to Amber.
Also, similar to other characters, Collei comes with her own specialty dish. Check out our guide on Pita Pocket and Yearning to learn more.
Especially with the right build, Collei can be a great asset to some of the best Dendro Reaction teams. In this guide, we’ll go through Collei’s best build, focusing on artifacts, ascension and talent materials, as well as weapons.
Best Builds for Collei
Collei doesn’t have many alternative builds due to the Dendro element’s very specific playstyle and requirements.
Early Game Build
Collei’s most useful early game artifact set is the Exile. It’s easy to acquire and provides Collei, as well as the other party members, with a solid amount of Energy Recharge.
In the early game, there aren’t many great options for Collei since her best sets are unlocked in Liyue and Sumeru.
Until then, the Exile makes sure you have enough Energy Recharge to consistently use your Elemental Burst, while also helping your team do the same.
However, as soon as you unlock either Liyue or Sumeru, you should consider changing from the Exile to something significantly better. Let us see the better late-game options
Late Game Build
In the late game, Collei takes the role of either a sub-dps or a support, based on what your party needs.
Collei Sub-dps Build
In a sub-DPS position, Collei’s best artifact set is the new Deepwood Memories set. This increases her own and her teams Dendro damage and is the best option for maximizing damage.
The sub-DPS role should be preferred primarily in teams where Collei triggers the reactions herself. This would be the case for Bloom and Quicken/Spread teams.
Therefore, in a sub-DPS build, Collei should prioritize balancing artifact substats between elemental mastery and energy recharge, with crit stats when possible, and a Dendro DMG bonus goblet. As for energy recharge requirements, 200% is the optimal choice.
Collei Support Build
In a support build, Collei doesn’t focus on triggering reactions herself, but instead on buffing the other party members.
Therefore, the Noblesse Oblige set is the preferred choice. This is especially useful for Quicken/Aggravate teams, since they focus more on Electro dmg than Dendro.
For more details, check out our in-depth Aggravate reaction guide.
In a support build, players can be less demanding in artifact substats. Specifically, Collei cares mostly for energy recharge, to ensure she can consistently trigger the Noblesse Oblige effect.
Element mastery isn’t needed while Crit stats are only optional. Again, aim for 200% energy recharge minimum.
Best Weapons for Collei
In terms of weapons, the main thing to look for is the weapon’s main stat. Specifically, Collei wants a weapon with an energy recharge stat, to ensure she can reach 200+% energy recharge. Here are her best options:
Elegy for the End
Elegy for the End offers everything Collei needs. It makes sure Collei can reach the recommended 200% energy recharge, while also buffing the teams overall damage. This is preferred in support builds, but is also a great choice for sub-dps builds.
Sacrificial Bow is a weapon that helps Collei significantly with her energy recharge needs, especially since it’s fairly easy to activate its effect.
The effect can activate both on the boomerang’s departure and return, as well as when the Sprout damage triggers. The only requirement is that Collei has to be in the field for the effect to trigger.
Favonius Bow is another great option that helps Collei meet her energy recharge needs. However, if you choose to go for the Favonius Bow, you need to prioritize Crit Rate substats. This will allow you to trigger the bow’s passive consistently.
Best Talents for Collei
As a support/sub-dps character, Collei levels up simultaneously both her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage. Auto attacks should be either completely ignored or leveled up last if you want to go all-in for Collei’s talents.
To level up one of Collei’s talents from level 1 to level 10, you will need the following materials:
- 1.7M Mora
- 6 Firm Arrowheads
- 22 Sharp Arrowheads
- 31 Weathered Arrowheads
- 3 Teaching of Praxis
- 21 Guide to Praxis
- 36 Philosophies of Praxis
- 6 Tears of the Calamitous God
- 1 Crown of Insight
In short, you’ll need to kill a lot of hilichurls, complete Sumeru’s talent domain multiple times, and kill the weekly boss ‘Raiden Shogun’ in Inazuma.
Collei Ascension Materials
To level-up Collei from level 1 to 90, including ascension materials, you will need the following:
- 414 Hero’s Wit
- 15 Adventurer’s Experience
- 12 Wanderer’s Advice
- 2.1M Mora
- 18 Firm Arrowheads
- 30 Shard Arrowheads
- 36 Weathered Arrowheads
- 168 Rukkhashava Mushrooms
- 46 Majestic Hooked Beaks
- 1 Nagadus Emerald Silver
- 9 Nagadus Emerald Fragments
- 9 Nagadus Emerald Chunks
- 6 Nagadus Emerald Gemstones
In short, you’ll need to kill hilichurls, farm the new mushrooms found in Sumeru, and defeat the new world boss ‘Jadeplume Terrorshroom’ multiple times.
Collei is a unique addition to Genshin Impact due to her Dendro element. She is either played as a sub-dps or support and focuses on consistently triggering Dendro reactions.
Ascending Collei and leveling her talents will require exploring Sumeru. With Collei being part of some of the best Dendro reaction teams in Genshins 3.0, building her is a solid option.
What do you think? Will you build and use Collei, or wait for another Dendro character?
