A main staple in the series, S-rank supports return in Fire Emblem Engage. Contrary to previous games, only the main character Alear can have S-rank support with other units.
Some players will be happy to know, there are no limitations to your choice by the gender of the main character.
After you clear Chapter 23, a paralogue will be unlocked named Garden of Memories. Once the battle is over you will be rewarded the Pact Ring. You can then find the Pact Ring in the Memento Drawer of your room in the Somniel.
Some S-rank supports you gain are not romantic, and the characters remain platonic friends. Many others are open to interpreting what the result is. I will try to list as best as I can, what the supports are by the end.
Although not a romantic support conversation, I wanted to mention this here. Fire Emblem Engage has some amazing support conversations, and the characters you would write off as one note can have a surprising amount of depth.
The first time I watched Celine and Alfred’s A-rank support I was caught off guard, and I loved the characters for it. Support conversations are a big part of the games.
Here are all the characters you can romance in Fire Emblem Engage.
Male Protagonist Supports
Female Protagonist Supports

Ambiguous and Platonic Romantic Partners
These have been all the characters, and the type of S-rank supports the main character can have. There are many types of relationships, and everyone will feel that their favorite character can be their partner at the end of their game.
Regardless of the result though, and the type of relationship you end up having, every character is worth the time to get to know them. See them talk about their pasts and their experiences. Learn what they have gone through, and you may even find a character you can relate to.
Even if S-rank supports are only available for Alear, you should definitely try to see what character’s have to offer after the C-rank supports that are easy to get.
To get all these supports unlocked, you will need to go through many battles. You should check out our guide on Skirmishes, to get a feel of the game’s mechanics and manage your time, and the plan you want for your team.
