Are you looking for a list of all Dark Envoy companions and where to find and unlock them? Here’s everything you should know.
Other than the two main characters, there are six companions in the game. All of them are unlocked by progressing the main story, so you don’t have to worry about missing anyone.
Nevertheless, it’s good to know when you’re getting a new character, so this guide will explain at which points of the story you’ll unlock new companions and which ones
All Dark Envoy Companions and Where to Find Them
Unlocking new companions is essential in Dark Envoy as it allows you to have a greater variety of characters, classes, and specializations. It’s a great way to try new playstyles without changing your main character’s specializations.
Without further delay, let’s go through all the characters in Dark Envoy and where to find and unlock them.
Kaela and Malakai
Kaela and Malakai are your main protagonists and you’ll always start the game with both of them. They are not limited in terms of class or appearance and you’re free to customize them in any way that you prefer.
Benedict
Benedict is a Warrior with the Guardian specialization. He is the first companion you’ll meet in the game, just at the end of the story in the first city.
Benedict is a great tank that can taunt enemies and take the aggro so that your other allies can deal damage undisturbed.
Sestia, Leon, and Vasso
After reaching the Free City of Phoenicia, Sestia, Leo, and Vasso will join your party at the same time
Sestia is a Ranger with the Bounty Hunter specialization, which makes her a great ranged DPS that focuses on placing traps.
Leon is an Engineer with the Constructor specialization. He has high AoE damage and can summon machines to help him in combat.
Vasso is an Adept with the Combat Medic specialization. She stands out due to her consistently applying debuffs on enemies and having enough healing magic and buffs to keep allies strong and healthy.
Kim and Tet
Kim and Tet are the last two available companions in Dark Envoy and you can only recruit one of them. They are unlocked when you decide between the League and Empire path in the story.
If you follow the the League path, you’ll unlock Kim, an Adept with the Summoner specialization who deals solid damage and summons elementals to fight on her side.
If you follow the Empire path, you’ll unlock Tet, a Ranger with the Sharpshooter specialization. He shines in high, single-target damage from a long range but lacks mobility.
Wrapping up
To summarize, there are six companions in Dark Envoy (eight with the main characters) and you can unlock all of them by progressing the main story.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to choose between Kim and Tet, based on which story path you decide to follow (Empire vs League).
What’s your favorite companion overall? What’s your main party in the game? Feel free to share them in the comments below.
