Moving on up…
A couple of news points to share with you today.
First, Ryan from MOG has announced that he has been hired on by CCP Games America/Whitewolf. This news was dropped in episode 81…so go listen if you haven’t done so. This I really found to be interesting on two counts:
1) Ryan has been quite critical of MMOs (…part of his charm…) and to be thrust into the belly of the beast is quite ironic. It’ll be interesting how he walks the new line that is before him in upcoming episodes. I honestly don’t know how I would do if put in a similar situation.
2) Ryan’s strength is story telling. If he gets into the story aspect, then I see nothing but good things.
Congrats to Ryan and I wish him luck in his new position.
On the EQ2 front. If you haven’t seen the recent Rise Of Kunark expansion details, then shame on you. Two really nice pieces to read are from RadarX (TTH) and from Michael (MMOG Nation). Both have great write ups from “press previews” that they were given. Once again, SOE seems to be striking at the nostalgia nerve from the old EQ days and it is really working for them. If I were the tin foil hat type I would be saying that they are trying to get as many EQ1 players over to EQ2 as possible. EQ is getting quite old and will be heading into the sunset sooner than later….so it would be a wise move to find new homes for EQ players. Good thing I’m not a tin foil hat kind of guy 
Nothing else going on. I’m still playing lots of non-MMO games lately…no real reason other than Orange Box rocking my sox.
