Going to have to side with Lauren on this one. I really, really want to play and participate in beta 6…but I’m going to have to pass until launch.
In case you haven’t heard, Rift is off to a really great start. Out of the gate…and barring any unexpected problems…it will probably be one of the best launches for an fantasy MMO that we’ve seen in a long time. Also, I think it’s got some legs under it to be a success. The rift system, invasions, the soul mechanic all all great selling points for this game. All of them will probably make Rift a very dynamic experience for most gamers.
In the style of Lauren’s post above, there are a couple things I’d like to see:
1) Crafting to really have an impact.
I tried crafting out a bit in Beta 5, and although it seemed to keep pace with a character’s level there was still something missing that made crafting interesting. Really, Rift doesn’t seem to offer very much in the way of crafting. Unlike the dynamic content that Rift offers, crafting kind of sits there on the sidelines wondering what it did wrong to deserve the fate it’s been stuck with. Now, I’m not a crafter usually…so what do I know from Jobe what a good crafting experience is, but I’d like to see it fleshed out a bit more.
2) Voice Chat
…please. Call Vivox and they’ll hook you guys up I’m sure.
3) Player Looks
I think the player models can use some more love. I think there are no enough choices to make characters look unique. I think this is an “easy” fix (…I say that with no knowledge at all…lol…), so let’s get more options in there.
4) Looking for Guild Tool
It would be really neato if this was in the game. As a new player, do you really want to subject me to the forums to find a great guild? Nuff said.
I have others…but they are buried deep within my brain, and I’m hungry.
My CE is pre-ordered. I payed for 6 months up front. I’m good to go.
See you all in Rift come launch.
